THIS is just so massively important. I was so disappointed when I realized all the annuals I bought this year from Home Depot had been treated with neonicotinoids. WHAT???? I was simply ignorant to the fact that most of the typical garden centres have plants that are actually harming and decimating our bee population. Pioneer Brand honey is a local honey that we proudly sell at FFC. The owners of Pioneer have been telling us how their bee populations are severely compromised, especially in the last few years. We cant go on pretending that this doesnt matter. 75% of what you eat comes from plants that require pollination by the bees. Im ALL for banning neonicotinoids and anything else that kills the bees. Let your voice be heard. I wrote Home Depot a letter letting them know I wont be buying plants from their garden centres until they decide to ban this pesticide. Im sure theyll be devastated :-) ... but what if we all did that? DRF
