THUNDERSTORM UPDATE: Moisture continues to wrap around an area of low pressure just off the coast of N. California...however as that low moves east, the moisture is being wrapped and spinning back toward the northwest (Picture #1). This is now being reflected in the latest model updates which show the strongest storms crossing over the Washington/Oregon state line near the Tri-Cities by about 4PM this afternoon then moving NW through the Yakima Valley and eventually the Wenatchee Valley (Picture #2). As you can see in the second picture there CERTAINLY is still a chance of t/storms around Spokane as this line moves through. Because potentially stronger storms are expected out across the Basin, stronger winds can also be expected in those areas (Picture #3), gusting anywhere from 40-60mph! Elsewhere winds could gust between 20-40mph. This is a constantly changing forecast, and under this pattern thunderstorms could really pop-up just about anywhere today...best thing you can do is just stay aware this afternoon and keep an eye on the sky. If it looks like potentially threatening weather is heading your way, GET INSIDE!
