THURSDAY 10 APRIL SHOW SCHEDULE 08:00AM AUSTRALIAN FASHION CHAMBER SEMINAR – The Box, Carriageworks The AFC, a newly estalished collaboration of elite industry professionals will host the final seminar for the week. Here they will be opening a dialogue for the industry to provide feedback on how the AFC can best support designers in achieving their business objectives. 09:00AM ALICE MCCALL – Bay 25, Carriageworks Todays show marks their 10 year aniversary of showing.To celebrate they built their set in collaboration with artist Damon Downey and are debuting shoes to be sold with the collection. Expect to see a graphic collection with prints from artist Eugenia Loli & Beth Hoeckel. Worn by the likes of Kate Moss, Chloe Sevigny and Diane Kruger. 10:00AM NEW GENERATION – The Runway, Carriageworks This runway show features eight notable designers in the fashion industry currently. These designer include Caslazur, Anna Quan, Daniel K, Aquintic, Doris Q, Rachelalex, Dyspnea and Rukshani. Daniel K has been worn by Jessie J, Kylie Minogue, Jennifer Hawkins and Margaret Zhang. 11:00AM HAYLEY ELSAESSER - The Theatre, Carriageworks 1st time solo show at MBFWA, titled Redneck Nostlgia, the collection encompasses the brands design signature with custom prints emblazoning fun shapes, homeage to good girls gone bad. 12:00PM MACGRAW - The Box, Carriageworks Sister duos first show at MBFWA showcasing soft tailoring and encompassing effortless elegance, luxe and wearable looks. Beautiful fabrications with custom prints designed Tessa one of the sister duo herself. 01:00PM CLEAN CUT DESIGNER SHOWCASE – The Hughes Gallery, 270 Devonshire St, Surry Hills Clean Cut is a collective of sustainable fashion advocates, bringing about greater awareness and celebration of the future of Australian Fashion. Designers include: Racheal Cassar, Goodone, The Social Studio, Kowtow, Lalesso, Bhalo, Ovna Ovich and Desert Designs. 02:15PM INNOVATORS - The Runway, Carriageworks Six graduates showcasing their current collections. Kiaya Daniels re-evalutates the commonly regarded values of menswear. Other designers Bei Na Wei, Ciara Nolan, Hayley Dawson, Logvin Code and Yousef Akbar explore womenswear from various perspectives, ranging from effortless feminine elegance to distinct streetwear. 03:00PM AE’LKEMI - The Theatre, Carriageworks The collection features the distinct hand finishing and signature raw edge elegence. These timelessly elegant pieces are created from taking classical shapes and twisiting them into contemporary forms. Celebrity following includes Samantha Jade, Samantha Wills and Dami Im. 04:00PM IXIAH - The Box, Carriageworks 1st time showing at MBFWA, the collection is impeccably balanced due to the strong play on masculinity and femininity. The designers innate sense of style is encapsualted in a collection of textual, strong silohuettes with hand made eclectic design elements. Cult Celebrity following includes Kardashian sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Jessica Mauoy, Jessica Hard and Nicole Richie. 05:00PM ZHIVAGO – Paint Shop Building, Eveleigh Suburban Car Workshops (Located next to Carriageworks) Signature fusion of tailored ready-to-wear and show stopping red carpet gowns. Garments accentuate and flatter female form whilst embodying a luxurious, athletica-inspired aesthetic. Worn by the likes of Delta Goodrem, Emma Booth, The Veronicas, Nicole Trunfio, Mel B and recently Lady Gaga. 06:00PM AJE – The Theatre, Carriageworks Inspiration from the first female widelife Adventurer, this collection epitomises a lifesyle of glamour and adventure; where beautiful rawness meets embellished luxury. A true luxe safari look is embodied in this collection. 07:00PM AUSTRALIAN WOOLMARK PRIZE Nominee Announcement and Documentary World Premiere. The documentary follows Joseph Altuzarra, Christopher Esber, FFIXXED, Rahul Mishra & Sibling as they learn to master the art of working with wool to create a capsule collection. 08:00PM SONG FOR THE MUTE – The Runway, Carriageworks Returning this year to MBFWA. Garments are fabric driven and feature tacticle sensations crafted from virgin wool blends, alpaca, as well as paraffin and resin coated fabrics. The mix between tailoring and sportwear is a key feature of this high quality collection.
