TITHES DOES NOT MEAN MONEY: Calling all pastors and church - TopicsExpress

TITHES DOES NOT MEAN MONEY: Calling all pastors and church leaders, please, stop teaching and preaching that tithes means Money. Stop teaching that if you love God, you will give 10% of your money to the church. Why are you condemning a member base on his money deposits at church? Why do you say this member has little faith because his total contribution this year is only this amount...way too little? Tithes is 10% of what you have, not just money. If a member is on layoff. He has a family of 6 people. He is receiving unemployment benefits of $600/mo. 1. Rent...$400/mo 2. Electric...$100/mo 3. Food....$50/mo 4. Gas...$50/mo Total Expenses: $600 This member is barely scrapping by. A family of 6 people use only $50/mo for food. You dont see this...you are preaching that he must give 10% of his money to God, because what he sows is what he reaps in heaven. Yeah, this is your way of making him feel bad and scare to death that he will never get to heaven. I hope you are ready to meet God one day and explain to Him why you taught that Tithes means giving 10% of money. He doesnt have any money to give. All he can give is his time/service. He supports the church in all events physically but not financially, but yet you judge him for not tithing financially. Shame on you. You would praise a member who tithes money, but does not tithes his time, but you would condemn a member who tithes his time and not his money? No wonder some members have turned away from the church. Look beyond the money. Teach him to love God and his neighbor. Teach him to tithes faithfully (Money & Time). Teach him that money is important to help keep the church functioning thats why people refer tithes as money but that is not true. Tithes is giving 10% of what you have to the Lord. This means, money, gold, harvest, time, and etc. -Nam Tswv Neeb
