TNN County News - Kern Sheriffs Deputies Investigate Shooting in South Bakersfield 12/3/2015 Todd D. Lederer - Editor On January 3rd, 2015 at about 4:11 a.m., officers from the Bakersfield Police Department responded to the 2200 block of Ming Avenue for a possible victim of a shooting, according to a statement by Ray Pruitt of the Kern Sheriffs Department. Pruitt reported that when officers arrived, they found a 22 year old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Kern Medical Center for treatment, according to the report. Officers on scene determined the shooting took place at a nearby residence located in the Kern County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction. Pruitt reported that deputies were dispatched to the scene and took over the investigation. The person who shot the victim was interviewed by detectives and released pending further investigation, according to the report.
