TO ALL MY SO VERY MUCH-LOVED CHILDREN (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE): I am returning to the hospital for surgery on Thursday, the fourth in two years. Always know that each of you have unique strengths, so please build on it; put your past behind you, to the extent you can, no matter how horrific it may have been, and build the life you deserve. Find someone to confide in... someone with a strong foundation. I feel deeply moved that I was that person for so many of you. I love you all.
