TO ALL PARENTS, STUDENTS, AND STAFF OF RUSSELL CO. HIGH SCHOOL: - TopicsExpress

TO ALL PARENTS, STUDENTS, AND STAFF OF RUSSELL CO. HIGH SCHOOL: Tomorrow is the first day back and I realize that the situation is anything but ideal. Undoubtedly, there will be chaos and confusion and honestly there is not a thing in the world that can be done about it at this point, yes, you could wait another week or two, but we all know that regardless of how much it is postponed, the inevitable is still going to happen. I know that EVERYONE involved in the school system is under a tremendous amount of stress right now, including the Board of education all the way down to the students. The best thing that can be done about anything right now is for you to just stop and pray, pray for patience, pray for clarity, pray for guidance and direction for administration, pray for focus for our students and teachers. If you choose to be negative and act out of anger or frustration, you will almost always regret it. However, if you remain positive and try and focus on the end goal of this entire project and what its purpose is, it will make more of a difference for everyone involved in the school system. If we as a community choose to show our distaste and frustrations and be mad about all the issues that are bound to arise within the context of the school year and otherwise, then what are we showing our young people? The future of our county and world will know nothing except how to throw people under the bus and cause fuss instead of banding together and getting through it for the betterment of our society. This is something Im certain everyone can agree on. Im not trying to be some love everybody socialist rant or platform, Im simply talking about basic human interaction and how our society has forgotten how to interact with people on a personal level. So really, all im trying to say is to think twice before you make some snotty comment or call up there and raise some cain. Are you really helping the situation by getting upset about something that is already on a VERY long list of things that need to be addressed? Or are you going to be a little bit of peace and hope to some extremely stressed and hard-working individuals that are trying their best to educate your and their future in the best way possible? Better yet, I challenge everyone, parents, students, other teachers in the district, grandparents, aunts, uncles, everyone that is reading this to make a phone call to the high school, the Board, various teachers and staff, whoever you can get in touch with and say a prayer with them on the phone. Text, email, skype, use carrier pidgeon, whatever. Just send positive thoughts, and words of hope and encouragement in some way tomorrow. It will make much more of an impact than you can even realize. Thank you if you have read this far and please, accept this challenge and make a difference.
