(TO MY ENGLISH SPEAKING FRIENDS) THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES (OAS) IS AN AMUSING CIRCUS. Consistent with the democratic values that the OAS is supposed to promote, and to ensure an open, clean and transparent process, yesterday a few delegations proposed to MAKE PUBLIC the discussion about the VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN VENEZUELA. A Venezuelan representative, supporter of Maduro’s regime (the regime that is VIOLATING HUMAN RIGHTS in Venezuela), made the following sarcastic comment: “OUR SESSION WILL BE TRANSPARENTLY PRIVATE”, meaning that the session will be both CLOSED and OPEN at the same time. What a absurd and disrespectful statement made by that representative; and it is even more shameful to hear the overwhelming reaction of other state members who support the military dictatorship in Venezuela: they all laughed out loud to death. This out-of-context and collective derisive laughter revealed the inmoral, inappropriate insensitive and unserious nature of the OAS as the organization that is SUPPOSED TO BE THE SACRED FLAG OF DEMOCRACY AND LIBERTIES IN THE AMERICAS. As they all laughed behind the closed walls of the immoral organization (the OAS), in Venezuela DEMOCRACY IS STILL IN AGONY, and every day YOUNG STUDENTS are being KILLED, ARRESTED AND TORTURED by the regime, only because they are PEACEFULLY PROTESTING to draw attention to issues like crime rates, inflation, repression, and the violation of their civil rights.
