TODAY! I finished grading the LAST MAJOR WRITING ASSIGNMENT (research papers) for this school year. AND, thanks to five strapping boys serving after school detention, my classroom is now SPOTLESS-floor, windows, shelves, dry erase board, tables, cabinets, desks, bulletin boards, trash, recycling bin...even my neighbor teacher benefited from their hard work! I am sure our custodial staff will appreciate it. The final few minutes, I sat them all down to talk about their misbehavior-what they did wrong, how it is affecting their education, and what they need to do in order to fix it. We actually had a good time, but they were sweating though! ;)
