TODDS LEAP ULSTER RALLY - 140+ entry for Ulster A bumper entry for next week’s Todds Leap Ulster Rally at Enniskillen, with 145 entries overall, 61 in the full rally, 84 in the National. The event is the fifth counting round of the Clonakilty Blackpudding Irish Tarmac Rally Championship, and the fourth round of the MSA British Rally Championship. Irish championship leader Declan Boyle is entered in his Subaru S12B WRC, and though second-placed Sam Moffett’s name isn’t on the entry list – he’s preparing for WRC Deutschland the following week – brother Josh, who’s third in the Championship, will be there, in a Mitsubishi Evo 9. Last year’s Ulster winner Garry Jennings brings his Impreza WRC and Donagh Kelly his Ford Focus. 3-times winner Eugene Donnelly is a late entry in a Subaru Impreza S14. For the BRC, Daniel McKenna, Osian Pryce, in their Citroën DS3s and Gus Greensmith in a Fiestaare all entered, though Callum Black is not. There is a moment of history with the first Venezuelan driver to compete on the Ulster, as Rene Dias Torcato drives a Citroën C2 R2 Max. Jimmy McRae brings the Vauxhall Firenza Can-Am to the historics: there are 5 911s , and – if you add the National entries – 52 Escorts of various specifications. No fewer than 4 Sunbeams, Geoff Taylor with his Imp Sport, and 3 Talbot Sunbeams. And 5 Minis, 3 from the distant past, 2 more recent. The Service Park is at St Angelo Airport, where the rally starts at 1240 local time on Friday week.
