To highlight the women‘s race will be past Istanbul Marathon Champion and 2:23 Marathoner Amane Gobena of Ethiopia, 2012 Dusseldorf Marathon Champion Agnes Barsosio of Kenya, Two-Time Asian Games Silver Medalist and Bahraini National Record Holder in the 10,000m and 3,000mSC, Kareema Jasim, Ukrainian National Record Holder Olena Shurkhno and 2013 Chicago Marathon third place finisher Mariya Konovalova of Russia, who boats the fastest marathon time in the women‘s field at 2:22:46. Very interesting is the race for Turkish National Champion; as the long awaited marathon debut for Elvan Abeylegesse of Turkey finally becomes reality. The Double Olympic silver medalist will take on her fellow country woman and 2:25 Marathon Sultan Haydar. The two will battle head to head for the National title which comes along with a separate prize purse on top of the already more than 230 000 USD in prize money the Elite Fields will be competing for including a very nice 50 000 USD for the overall winners.
