TOPIC: LET PEACE RULE TEXT: Colossians 3:12-17 DATE: Thursday, August 28 WORD FOR TODAY: Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Vs.15 We are Gods chosen people, holy and dearly beloved (Vs.12). How the should we live? These passages tell us to forgive those who wrong us because God has first forgiven us (Vs.12). The biblically recommended pattern of life has advantages which we cannot appreciate if we do not discard our own perspectives and take on the view point of the Bible. This may be difficult if we have alot of earthly goods which we wish to carry along instead of yielding to the divine injuctions to sell all that thou hast.... And come, follow me (Luke 18:22). Verses 15; Let the peace of Christ reign... and 16; study the holy word of God...suggests that we have an important part to play if the peace of Christ and the word of God are to dominate our lives. Look at the two verses closely and come to a definate decision as to what you are giong to do concerning these vital truths. You are not compelled but it is expedient for your souls sake. Giving or taking bribe is an example of something that cannot be done in the name of the Lord (Vs.17). Can you think of others? PRAYER: Lord Jesus, may I always dwell in your peace. Help me to be a peace maker.
