TRY COMPUTING THE ODDS! “My son and his girlfriend bought me a ‘When God Wink’s’ BOOK for my birthday but FORGOT TO GIVE it to me. About the same time, I was scheduled to travel to see my very GOOD FRIEND JIM, a man to whom I’d frequently said, ‘You are the LAST PERSON I think of when I lay my head on my pillow at night, and the FIRST PERSON I think of when I wake up.’ With my suitcase half-packed, I learned that JIM HAD DIED. I was devastated. Knowing I was feeling very down, my son and his girlfriend invited me over for dinner. They BELATEDLY GAVE ME THE GODWINK BOOK, and I began to understand the meaning of “godwinks.” A few days later, I was CRYING hard, still trying to understand it all, so I TURNED ON the TV hoping to find an inspiring sermon or SOMETHING TO COMFORT me. I happened upon a channel I had never watched before, Channel 45 out of Leesburg, Florida, and an episode from ‘Little House on the Prairie’ was playing. It was a scene where the girl was reading a letter she’d written to someone she’d recently lost, saying, You are the LAST PERSON I think of when I lay my head on my pillow at night, and the FIRST PERSON I think of when I wake up.” I sat there in ASTONISHMENT! This was EXACTLY what I used to say to my dear friend Jim! And at that moment in time, I knew that God had SENT ME A GODWINK to show that He cared. So many times I’ve wondered: how could I, at that exact moment in time, turn to a channel that I have never watched, exactly when it was playing a clip from a program, that had years of reruns, and the actor’s dialogue would be saying something no one else even knew I said to Jim, except God?” Marsha •••• Could any one of us compute the ODDS that Marsha would hear the very words she used to speak to her dear friend Jim, on a TV program? This is what makes the DIVINE ALIGNMENT of GODWINKS so amazing, isn’t it. In order to appreciate that God is communicating to us all the time through theses astonishing little godwinks, we just have to OPEN OUR EYES.
