TUESDAY, 05 NOVEMBER 2013 14:00 Ally Relishing Pars Test WRITTEN BY NEIL SMITH Ally Relishing Pars Test ALLY MCCOIST is looking forward to welcoming Jim Jefferies’ Dunfermline to Ibrox tomorrow night and he is fully aware his Rangers side will have to be at their best to beat the Pars. Dunfermline currently sit third in the table having picked up 19 points from their 10 League One fixtures so far. Second place Ayr United have the same points tally but a better goal difference having played a game more. The Fife club have, of course, had off-the-pitch issues to deal with after being forced into administration earlier this year. They were subsequently deducted 15 points and eventually relegated to Scotlands third tier via last seasons play-offs. With a new owner, Pars United, taking control last month the Pars now look to be moving in the right direction again and McCoist is relishing the prospect of a tough 90 minutes against Jefferies’ team. He said: “I think a lot of people would look at ourselves and Dunfermline being the top two teams in the league. “We obviously have an enormous amount of sympathy for Dunfermline and what they have gone through. We know exactly what the club, the staff and supporters have gone through and are still going through. “Hopefully they look as though they are coming out the other end as well with the backing they have received from their supporters, similar to the backing we received from our supporters. “So there are many similarities and it’s true this was a top flight fixture not so long ago. I’ve spoken to Jim and they do have a relatively inexperienced side, there’s no doubt about that, but what they lose in experience on the park they certainly make up for it with experience off the park with their manager.” Ross Perry, Chris Hegarty and Dean Shiels are still out for the Gers but Ian Black returns to McCoist’s plans having missed Friday night’s Scottish Cup victory over Airdrieonians due to suspension. rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/5480-ally-relishing-pars-test
