TURNING BACK THE HANDS OF TIME What a beautiful run I had today! - TopicsExpress

TURNING BACK THE HANDS OF TIME What a beautiful run I had today! It finally stopped raining. The sunshine and the breeze in my back yard inspired me to find a pair of my old running shoes and jog down to the power line 100 yards below my home. The jog to the power line was all downhill. The first 150 yards west on the power line were also downhill. I had run this power line was fifty years, although not in the past five years. What a glorious experience, turning back the hands of time. I jumped off of the steps of my deck into the overgrown grass in my back yard. The westerly crosswind blew hair across my forehead, reassuring me that I had more hair than I thought. I was exhilarated. I felt no pain. I overcame the post-traumatic arthritis in my knees, my asthma, and the chronic bursitis in my hips. The extra 25 pounds since my last run was no problem. A red-tail hawk watched my progress from his perch on one of the lower three wires of the high voltage line. Two does, who live in my backyard, showed me new respect by scampering away. I made the turn west on the power line gaining strength. Fortunately, I had my Droid in the pocket of my running shorts. Fortunately, Suzanne was home. Fortunately, the bed of my Kubota RTV is large enough for me to lie in the fetal position. I’m sure I traveled at least 135 yards in all, counting the deck. With a little luck I should be able to walk again in about a week.
