TWO BIG MISTAKES INDIAN CONGRESS MADE, BUT THEY ALSO DID ONE GOOD THING. 1- By accepting the division of the land in 1947. they should never, never, never, never have agreed to the partition of the country. 2-By not annexing bangladesh in 1971. india had the moral and legal rights to take the land back because it belonged to india since the time unkown. now hindus, christians and ahmadis are being persecuted there. they are paying the price. 3-the one good thing that congress did was not to kill the urdu language. that heinous crime was committed by jansangh. i was there at that time. The post partition era saw urdu language die slowly. The majority of Indians as well as the government saw urdu too as a guilty party and slowly wiped it out. Urdu thus became the casualty of partition and communal hatred, despite the fact that it was the language of millions of non-muslims too. Urdu, that gave India an ocean of beautiful songs and poetry, ultimately met its death at the hands of its own countrymen. it broke my heart to see the urdu culture die after the partition, but i blame us, not them for this loss. languages should be preserved. there is a room for all languages in this world. zulfiqar tareen, a friend of all, enemy of none.
