TWO GENERATIONS BORN UNDER M7 BUT MULAGO IS STILL DECAYING A 320-bed women’s hospital is currently under construction with a $ 33 million loan from the Islamic Development Bank, where women and premature babies are currently handled Where is the 320 bed hospital being built? Is it just a maternity hospital like Pumwani in Majengo Nairobi or a full womens hospital? Mulago hospital should be decongested to deal with serious cases. Yes birth is a serious matter, the wonderful experience should be handled elsewhere. The same with minor ailments. Kampala needs 2 or even 3 hospitals to be able to serve the huge population. It is unfortunate that YKM who has been in power for almost 30 years has not transformed Ugandan society in any way or form. If you have doubts look at the household in Uganda today and compare it with what it was before YKM. Contrary to YKMs promise, there is no fundamental change to talk about. That is tragic because some of the children born in 1986 are now grand parents! So two generations under YKM, what a missed opportunity .
