Tails from the City volunteer musings: Two years ago, my friends and I met the wonderful people from Tails at an art event actually. Like animals, I believe opportunities present themselves in your life when you are ready and if you listen, the right one comes along. I had wanted to get more involved in animal rescue but had not found the right one that fit my schedule. For me, Tails is the perfect place to help out. I wasnt sure if I could do it - would I bring home 50,000 animals? would I cry every time? would I throw up from scooping clay litter? (turns out that one is true so I dont do that at the shelter). I have cried in joy and sadness at Tails but realize that my emotions are second to the hard work. And Ive only brought home two animals, both fosters who will be moving on (one already has - Kringle!! OJ will be soon to follow). This has been an extremely rewarding couple of years with Tails and I strongly urge you, if you are interested in animal rescue, to get involved. There are so many great organizations out there. There are so many different ways to help out. One, for Tails, is to become a Cage Sponsor! A commitment of $20/month for a year can help out a homeless animal immensely!!!
