Tanuja is 32 years old, a case of Osteosarcoma. Tanuja has been through her chemotherapy and a surgery with an implant which left her leg infected and inspite of extensive VAC dressings and medication her leg would not heal. Ultimately she opted to have her leg amputated earlier this month. Unfortunately, the disease has spread to her spine and lungs. The doctors have advised chemotherapy again, for which she is ready. Tanuja is married with 3 daughters but has been living with her parents since her diagnosis. Her kids live at her husbands home. Her mother has been bringing her for her treatment on her own as her father is ailing.Tanuja had a cousin who was a huge support to them during their visits to the hospital and at home, but he passed away in an accident. Her mother is losing her eyesight and has a problem with her knees and back, but doesnt have the time to have herself seen to, and so her brother has quit his job to help. The family is drained of all their strength and finances. Having to deal with the trauma of going through the process of chemotherapy again with no hope in sight is a tough task for them..to say the least. Besides her medication and an air mattress and wheelchair which she needs, we are helping the family with money for transport and food as well.
