Tea Time: So im sitting here sipping my IASO tea thinking on a couple things. Deciding on which to discuss is easy because one is personal but could effect other people and the other one doesnt. Last night at work I was having a conversation about Carmelo Anthony being better at his current position than Kyrie Irving but not Lebron James and heres why: Melo is in a position to score points. He is a scorer. Kyrie is point guard, not a shooting guard but Kyrie doesnt play like a point guard. A point guard is supposed to facilitate the basketball and penetrate the defense, creating opportunities for shooting guards and small forwards and centers to score. Lebron on the other hand is a small forward but has the mentality of a point guard so we have often called him a point forward. He is a true leader on the court because he makes others around him better. He brings other people up to playing to their full potential because he has a pass first defensive mentality. He understands that great defense opens up the door for great offense. He can get his own shot but prefers to pass to someone who has an open shot. He knows that no man is an island and noone can make it alone in life. Individuals dont win championships, teams do. The most successful people are the ones who made the most and right connections and utilized their resources correctly. Michael Jordan was the strong point but he couldnt do it by himself for the Bulls. Bird, Magic, Manning, Brady, Montana etc....They all had to have a good supporting cast around them. What am I saying? We all need help to get to where we are going in life. This is the Body of Christ. One body with MANY MEMBERS. Their is no lone ranger. Noone can exist independent of the rest of the body. The eye needs the leg and the leg needs the hand for something. No part can do everything but every part can do something.
