Tea with Milk in London, Teh Si in Singapore :) PM Lee was hosted at the Chatham House Dialogue in London over the weekend. Serendipitously, we hosted Dr Robin Niblett, Director, Chatham House, in Yew Tee last night. Robin has been the director of the Royal Institute of International Affairs since 2007. A recognized international relations specialist in transatlantic relations and European integration, he was the Chief Operating Officer of the Centre for Strategic and International Studies prior to joining Chatham House. We had a good chat on Singapore and the history of Yew Tee but also discussed the situation in Ukraine and how it serves as a crucial reminder to small city-states like Singapore in the importance of sovereignty and defence. Before observing our Meet-the-People Session, we hosted him to a local dinner at our Zone 12 coffeeshop. He enjoyed his cup of hot teh si and appreciated having a local meal rather than being in a hotel for dinner. He was intrigued by our surgery (the British term for MPS) and we explained to him our system and why the MPS is sacred to us.
