Teaching from Jerusalem: . El HaRomim — The Letter to the Romans: Part 8 [Chap 5] The J street gang, begs us to believe that we... ...have now been justified by His blood [Rom 5:9]. Yep. G-d looks at you and says you are good to go, because the blood of an innocent human god-man was spilt by jealous power-hungry thugs and villains. On the basis of this rendering, we can reasonably conclude that G-d approves of the murder and assassination of innocent people, especially Jews, to the extent that He is willing justify [i.e. declare upright] men and women who believe that the blood of a murdered innocent public figure, actually satisfies His sense of justice, and turns sinners into saints in His eyes. But is this really the message of Torat-Sinai, let alone Rav Shaul? Is that what Moshe is all about? How would the Prophet respond? Go and say to these people, Go ahead! Hear it, and hear it again! But you wont understand. Gaze upon it, again and again! But the truth will never sink in. The heart of these people has become obese, and their ears overweight. They have closed their eyes so as to prevent themselves from seeing, and to prevent their ears from hearing, and that their heart might understand, and make Tshuvah, and be healed. If this is true, then what did Shaul actually write at Romans 5:9? Can the earliest witness to his teaching, help us out here? Tune-in to find out. In Jerusalem, well begin at 11 PM. In Europe and Australia, please check your log-in times against Jerusalems clock. Register at ntcf.org/register.html
