Team CRANKA was very unlucky in day two of the Tasmanian Trout - TopicsExpress

Team CRANKA was very unlucky in day two of the Tasmanian Trout Classic today :( Had 12 trout at 11:30 am when our main motor stopped on us in a strong wind swell. We drifted for an hour and a half without another boat in site to hand our tag to or to give us a tow back. We managed to sail our way to Cramps bay using the Drogue as a sail and using our electric to help steer us in the right direction and to keep us straight and off the rocky shores in the big swell. We managed to get back to the closest ramp and hitch a ride back to the weigh in area. We arrived at the weigh in 15 minutes late at 2:15pm and as per the rules we lost 22cm of fish per minute for being late so all up we lost 330cm off our total bag for today and we still managed to end up in sixth place overall today. Ironically... had we made it to the weigh in on time we would have won this round... Bugger! Ah well... Thats fishing I guess and you have got to take the good with the bad when it comes to tournament fishing in rough conditions. Happy to make it back safely at the end of the day... May just invest in a kicker motor after today efforts though ! Well done to all the place getters and sorry we didnt get back to shake all the winners hands and give our congrats! Story, pics and vid to follow once we have had time to pack up our gear and head home! Cheers Steersy & Coxy Team CRANKA
