Technological advancement When I was at primary school, my grandfather was nearing retirement. His last job was as a travelling photographer-salesman taking photos and selling advertising to motels. He and my grandmother spent about three years living in a caravan as they drove up and down the country. They did have a few mod cons, one of which was the state of the art portable TV shown in one of the pictures. This was about the size of a popup toaster, the picture was in black and white, it was heavy and the only battery it could use was one out of a car, the size of a concrete block and about three times the weight. Well nowadays a TV like that would belong in a museum... we can play a video clip in colour on a phone the size of a stack of playing cards and its tiny battery will last for hours or even days. But with all the technological advancement, have we also advanced as a society? I think the answer is no. As the technology advances, it is taking over our lives and we are using it more and more to fill in gaps in our lives. But try as we might, we cannot fill in that gap that was made just for God. All of the technology in the world cannot replace the need to have a relationship with our Creator
