Ten years ago a father with a heart of pure gold, Dennis Gordon Dickson, ceased living amongst the breathing, but his presence has never left me since. Now that Im a bit older I can only imagine how many less mistakes I would have made on my own and how much more wisdom and virtue could have rubbed off on me having him around as a role model today. He lived a full life with a heart condition that very well could have prevented his birth, but instead he lived to meet the love of his life and witness the birth of his own two twins; and raised them with all the love in the world. I wish I could share his full story with all of you because everyone deserves to know a kind, selfless man as him walked this Earth; but instead today, Ill celebrate my dads life on his birthday, July Fourth. Happy Independence Day, America! 🇺🇸
