New pattern from Calleighs Clips and Crochet Creations! It is Cowl in her Key Tab set and it is FREE!! I would call this a Stage 3 Pattern: If you are learning to crochet, you should be comfortable with turning, double, half double, single, and slip stitch before doing this. That said it is a fairly simple stitch and she shares a link that teaches the stitch. This pattern uses a clustering stitched and slip stitch joining a chain, theses are not hard to learn but can take time. I am starting to use a Stage System to help thous of us that are just learning to crochet and/or read patterns. A Stage 1 Pattern would work with chain, turn, single, and double. This would make a towel to blanket but not require many stitch changes or joins Stage 2 Pattern would be basic Grannie or circle, building off the basics and adding the join and increase stitches. A Stage 3 Pattern has new yet foundational techniques. For example combination stitches, and joining a chain. They are not difficult in themselves but require some experience before attempting. *Note* all of this is still considered a Basic or Easy pattern.
