Thakurpukur Days. Its been 10 long years since I retired from LaMartiniere and settled here in this beautiful place Thakurpukur. I remember Mrs Roma Bosu who first introduced me to this place which was then just a village in the real sense of the word and to-day the value of the land has skyrocketed to unreachable heights. I borrowed money from my mother-in law to purchase this piece of land on which we built our house. It on cost us Rs 4000/- then in 1974. and then left the same till 1980 when we decided to construct a house. To-day the property is now under the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. our school St Andrews is just around the corner and walking distance . Everything is available here for our convenience. We are self sufficient and I will never use the word Retired when having reached the age of 60 in the year 2005. I am thankful to God fro his many mercies I enjoy. Properties were cheap not so long ago, and with the coming of the Metro rail prices of properties rose to such heights. We have been busy nursing our school to a Secondary school affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and up to class 10 having English as it First Language. We have now applied to the Board for holding classes XI and XII. I am confident God will help us to achieve this also.
