Thank you Dayna Speed I love this! . When we were very young, my family would drive through the Southwestern States and make the rounds to visit grandparents. Grandpa Bud and Grandma Betty lived near Phoenix and there were always toys and their sweet dog Panda (They called him Old Fuzz). In later years they lived in Cottonwood California and I had my first encounter with a rattlesnake almost stepping right on top of him before my grandmother grabbed me and took of his head with a shovel. They would drive us in to Redding to go shopping and Grandpa would disappear to go buy supplies or hang out with my little brother and Grandma would take me shopping. I got moccasin shoes, necklaces and clothes. Their final years together were spent in the house in Rio Linda (near Sacramento). Mark and I have SO many great memories of that house. Making kool-aid (sometimes freezing it). Looking for lizards. Swimming in the dough-boy pool. Learning real embroidery AND liquid embroidery. So many wonderful memories. Thanks Mark Weeden for posting and bringing back even more wonderful memories.
