Thank you for adding me to your group. I believe that we are distant cousins through the Pacheco Remigio surname which one group changed to Romiza. The family originates from a town name Maia in Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel Island, Azores. The surname was originally Pacheco de Resendes, but one of the descendants was named Remigio Pacheco. His children began using Pacheco Remigio and Remigio as their surname. What I have is Joao Pacheco Remigio m. Maria Luiza Rapozo. They had several children. A son named Jose married someone name Mary. I believe they took on the Romiza name. I have a daughter named Maria who married a Manuel Rodrigues. (Those are the only two I could trace in this line) I am in contact with two Pacheco Remigio cousins who are directly related to Remigio. Keeping my fingers crossed that this is the same family!
