Thank you for your prayers for the AGC Grand Entry into Nairobi - TopicsExpress

Thank you for your prayers for the AGC Grand Entry into Nairobi last Sunday. It was a beautiful service, with a lot of enthusiasm for the work of the church. Over 4000 people attended from many parts of Kenya including groups from Samburu, Ngoron, Maasai, Turkana, and children from Tenwek Primary school who took first place in the National Music Festival. Both President Kenyatta and Deputy President Ruto attended, but it was not political at all. The Bishop (Rev. Dr. Robert Langat) and Assistant Bishop (Rev. David Maritim) had a special prayer time for them, and the two national leaders expressed appreciation for the important role of missionaries and the church in Kenyan society. Several Cabinet Ministers, Senators and MPs are members of Good Shepherd Church (Nairobi), so there is a good opportunity for Christians to make a difference at these levels of government. The fund-raising was fun, and brought in Ksh. 36.04 million (over $427,000) for the new five-story Africa Gospel Church (AGC) Plaza Office Building. WGM was honored in many ways through appreciative words by the Bishop Langat, and opportunity for both the Kenya Country Director (Jim Vanderhoof) and the Africa Regional Director (Jon Stuery) to speak. We were all blessed to see all levels of ethnic and economic backgrounds participating. The Bishop gave an excellent message on the vision of the church: The whole church taking the whole Gospel to the whole world. We are glad that we "got to" be part of this monumental, historic event. May the Lord bless and use AGC across Kenya, all over Africa, and around the world!
