Thank you to my BFF Tracy, for tagging me in the gratitude challenge. Here are a few of the many things i am grateful for... !. My loving parents...they have been married for 62 years. Over those years, they have stood by me and shown me what unconditional love truly is. I was not always the easiest child to raise. I was strong willed and very independent. I am sure there were days when they were at their wits end with me, and they never gave up. I look back and realize how grateful i am now. I do not think i would ever have been prepared to raise a special needs child. You are still there, providing me with strength to get thru some of the worse days life has thrown at me. 2.I am ever so grateful for the many siblings i have. Each one of you mean the world to me. Each of us have busy lives, yet we are always there for one another whenever it counts. I am grateful to never know what its like to be angry with one of them and not speak. I am grateful that none of them make judgments on one another, loving and respecting each other for the amazing people they are. 3. I am ever so grateful for the privilege of being a mother. My sons are the reason i rise each day. Not because they need anything from me, but because they are beautiful inside and out and I thrive on watching them grown and succeed in life and i love being in their presence. 4. I am extremely grateful for my husband. Grateful that he has loved me thru thick and thin. Its easy to love someone when everything is perfect. Yet he has continued to love me, even when he has seen me at my lowest and when our lives have been a living hell at times. He is the hardest working man i know. We are very different, yet in many ways, we are the same. 5. I am grateful to have an ex husband, who remains a true friend. One who sets aside whatever negative feelings for me, and puts our son first. Grateful for his love and compassion towards Nicolas. Because of this, he is teaching our son, forgiveness, understanding, and respect for allowing others to live their lives and accepting others for being who they are. 6. Grateful for my job. It gives me piece of mind, giving me a bit of distraction from stressful days, giving me security in knowing my family has medical coverage to keep them healthy. It has its challenges...always pushing me to learn and adjust to constant change. Grateful for the great co-workers i have known in the 31 years i have been there. 7. Grateful for my two sweet dogs, Maggie and Sadie. They give nothing but unconditional love. They make me laugh. They comfort me when i cry. 8. Grateful for the people that work with Nicolas. Trying to help us teach him independence. Seeing how they sincerely care for him, comforts me. 9.Grateful for my extended family, my in laws, my community, grateful that they show empathy and understanding, and support my family any way they can. 10. Grateful for my bff, Tracy...you are not only my friend, but you are like family. I could not love and admire you any more than i do my siblings. We have been thru alot in our lives. Life has put distance between us, making it difficult to spend time together, yet, one phone call can erase any amount of distance placed between us. I always know, regardless of what is happening. You will be there for me, through thick and thin. 11. Grateful for my step daughter Jennifer. I know of no one, who has had such heartache placed upon them, no one that has lost so many loved ones in such a short span, that can hold their head up high, carry on, and show me such strength. You are the most compassionate person I know. You have the biggest heart as well. I love you always. 12. Last but least, Kyle. My son. Grateful doesnt really express what i feel for you. I have always struggled with guilt. Not feeling that i gave you the time or attention you deserved. I know having a younger brother with special needs has been difficult. Yet you never once complained. You never once, expressed resentment towards me, or your brother. You are loving, compassionate, and respectful. I am grateful, that somehow, thru all this, you grew into such an awesome young man. I know that when the day comes...you will be an exceptional husband and father. I am truly blessed and very grateful, extremely priveleged to be your mom. Now i challenge Jennifer ,my sister in law Nikki, and my husband Rick to complete this challenge as well. Love you all
