Thanks for adding me to the group. I am researching the Smallwoods of Centraville. Dont have a lot go go on. My Grandfather was James (Patterson) Machen Smallwood (b.1907). I was told his parents died when he was very young and he grew up in a foundling home. Cant find him in any census records after 1910. He had a sister who died shortly after birth, and a brother who I think was adopted named Johnny. His parents were Manley Hezekiah Smallwood (b.1845) and Mary Elizabeth Foley (b.1888). Would really like to know for sure who Manleys parents were and also wish I could find the parents of Mary. I know they were tenant farmers and very poor. I do most of my genealogy work on Ancestry
