Thanks to Annette for the following review: My week at Lavacchio was absolutely heavenly. Jamie and Ailsa are wonderful hosts, and carefully consider every detail about their beautiful property for their guests, and at every turn you can see the way they lovingly tend to the place, from the lush lavender bushes fringing the poolside setting, through to the perfect positioning of the hilltop yoga shala. I loved their friendly hospitality, and the welcome made by their very personable cats and dog too! Everywhere was fragrant with jasmine and lavender, buzzing with bees - and what could be a better spot for an afternoon of reading than a hammock overlooking grapevines and the mountains of Tuscany? Special mention must be made to Ailsas delicious cooking: healthy, light, fresh and absolutely bursting with flavour at every meal. Jamie makes excellent scrambled eggs too - fresh from their happy hens you can hear on the hillside. The yoga holiday I was on was a week with Wendy, practicing Iyengar, and thanks to her patient, detailed tuition at the twice-daily classes I felt my knowledge and technique improve immensely, alongside my confidence. Other yoga teachers will now have much to live up to now Ive had a week with Wendy! Nothing escapes her eagle eye observation, and through her teaching I have a greater appreciation of the nuances of yoga practice, but also to have fun with it and listen carefully to my body. I really appreciated the pace and attitude of the whole experience - the morning classes were not too early (a very reasonable 8am), my staples of wine and coffee were far from off limits and amply supplied, and we were happily left to do as we wish around the yoga class schedule - laze by the pool, arrange massages and reflexology treatments, go on guided walks with Jamie, or visit nearby towns. If a week of gentle time out, fresh mountain air, great food and stunning scenery is what you need, head to Lavacchio! It is a very special place made even more so by generous, caring hosts. Jamie and Ailsa have worked very hard at ensuring Lavacchios environmental sustainability, including solar panels and rainwater tanks. Truly excellent, and worth every penny. ***** I am reborn!
