Thanks to Facebookless Jeff Ack Daddy Ackerman and Katelyn Ann, I got called out to do the #icebucketchallenge to raise awareness of ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrigs disease. Im sure youve all seen these videos and thought at one point that they were stupid or silly (Im guilty of it) until I read about it at petefrates and realized what it was for. I highly suggest you take 10 mins out of your life to read about one of the most inspiring dudes Ive unfortunately never had the pleasure of meeting. ALS is a horrible disease that I wouldnt wish on even my worst enemy, yet Pete Frates accepts every daily challenge head on with the most inspiring positive attitude imaginable. It puts life in perspective pretty quickly. Im officially calling out my father Scott Towne, my brother Cameron Towne, and his girlfriend Abby Bucchanio. I would have called out my mother Donna Campisano, but she currently has pneumonia and is still attempting to bicycle 75 miles this Saturday to raise awareness for another awful disease, Multiple Sclerosis (can you say beast mode).
