That feeling of the heart rate suddenly jumping when youre halfway through a field, in the complete dark save for your headtorch, and it picks out a couple of eyes staring at you in the periphery of the beam? Yep, that. Joys of nighttime running in the countryside :-) And it jumped even more when I scanned to my left and realised there were lots and lots of eyes. That belonged to young, inquisitive cattle, who proceeded to follow me to the gate in the corner. I can tell you its quite a skill to be able to run backwards through a field in the dark so you can keep an eye (and light beam) on the cheeky little buggers...
