The huge multi-national corporations that have usurped the power of the long-standing geopolitical nation-states/status-quo will very soon exert their rights as citizens of equal-standing to you and I (as defined in SCOTUSs 2010 decision on Citizens United, quite possibly the worst, most damaging and detrimental ruling to the general population since Dredd Scott or Maybery v. Madison) and shape, influence and ultimately control what you digest via the public media. Why no one has this on their radar is of course alarming, but far from surprising; Americans are far more engaged in the faux trials and tribulations of the Kardashians and every other attention-sapping member of our pop-celebrity driven culture. Things are changing fast, and very few are bothering to pay the slightest bit of attention. Nero fiddled while Rome burned, and no one noticed the bankers who robbed the Empire blind.
