Thats Eileidh admitted to Schiehallion Unit Yorkhill Sick Childrens Hospital. Surprisingly, she has settled pretty well :) she had bloods taken, height & weight taken (weight 9.7kg, height 83.3cm) & was given her GCSF injection. This time Eileidh got a Doc McStuffin recorder from the fairy box. Love the idea of the fairy box. It seems to be helping with the injections which she really fought before. Lets see if she will be as cooperative tomorrow!! Eileidh will be fasting from 3am for food & 6am for juice. They will be repeating bloods in the morning to check her CD34 levels for the stem cell harvest. She will be going to theatre for her line to be fitted but we havent got a time yet, although the consultant wants to hopefully start the harvest tomorrow. Everything now depends on her blood results.. They have said that Eileidh qualifies for another clinical trial for a drug called Plerixafor. Plerixafor sticks to a protein on the surface of blood stem cells. This protein ties blood stem cells to the bone marrow & helps release the stem cells from the bone marrow into the blood stream. a process called mobilisation. This is a randomised trial, meaning she may or may not receive Plerixafor. However, if her CD34 levels are not suitable, they may give her Plerixafor anyway, regardless whether we choose to register her on the clinical trial or not. We had another fun day :) we went to the Riverside Museum. It was really good & Eileidh loved it! We were hoping to get on the HMS Duncan but the rain got too heavy so we never managed. Its a shame because Eileidh would have loved it. This has definitely been a brilliant & well deserved weekend for Eileidh. Her batteries have been recharged & shes ready to begin round 2 of the biggest fight of her life!
