Thats called fideism, relying on faith. Why not have faith in the Quran? In the Vedas? In Quetzalcoatl? Faith is a path to anything, and is thus a reliable path to nothing. Of the things atheists promote (we are often rationalists and skeptics), the use of reason is key. Faith is a concession to irrationality, the willingness to believe anything one wishes. More often than not, one has faith in what one was taught to believe in as a child. Raised in India, by Hindu parents? Faith in Hinduism. Raised in Pakistan, Muslim parents? Faith in Islam. Raised in ancient Greece? Faith in the Greek gods. Faith is not a pathway to truth; the conclusions it leads to are not reliable. If you can reconcile that in your mind, then you are indeed not a rationalist. But notice how likely in every other part of your life, you rely on reason, not faith. If I said you owe me all your money, would you take that on faith? Or if I said you can fly off of a 10 story building, would you take that on faith? No. Simply apply reason in the one domain in your life from which it is currently exempt, and see if the claims you were taught based on your accidental birth location and time hold up.
