The 2015 Georgia Water Resources Conference is issuing a Call for Abstracts and Manuscripts. The Conference will be held at the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education on April 28-29, 2015. For more information, and to submit an abstract, please see the GWRC web page at gawrc.org. The theme of the 2015 GWRC will be Water and Prosperity. While all submittals will be considered, we are most interested in those that address the following general topics related to management and enhancement of Georgias water resources: Georgia’s growth industries water needs Energy production and water availability Farm water use Savannah Harbor deepening Water project funding Climate change Changing rainfall patterns Water availability for economic growth New flow regimes, new TMDLs? Reservoir siting and sizing Conservation strategies Coastal water quality Stormwater infrastructure needs Groundwater sustainability Habitat conservation Statewide water planning Nonpoint source pollution Aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) Saltwater intrusion Regulatory changes and challenges Environmental ethics Interstate water issues Abstracts must be 250 words or less, and manuscripts cannot exceed 5 pages. The deadline for submitting abstracts is November 15, 2014. The deadline for submitting short manuscripts is December 15, 2014. Conference registration will open in early January 2015.
