The AD/HD Society of the Philippines Monthly Seminar Series: Teaching Mathematics and Reading to Students with ADHD Saturday, December 7, 2013 - 730AM-12NN University Hotel, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City OVERVIEW: When students with ADHD have particular difficulties with math and reading, where is it coming from? Answering this question helps us address the issue and expand our mindset in teaching students with ADHD in these particular subject areas. SPEAKER: Dr. Merlene Alon - The ADHD Society of the Philippines is fortunate to have Dr. Alon - an acclaimed instructor and practitioner when it comes to enabling students with special education needs access the general education curriculum. She has given seminars for the Department of Education and various private and international entities on the topic. She has served in key leadership positions in various national and international education-related organizations - as the chair of the International Development in Asia, as a Research and Grant Committee member of the International Reading Organization, a past president of the Reading Association of the Philippines and as an advisory board member to the ADHD Society of the Philippines. Currently, she is the directress of her own school, Alpha Angelicum Academy in Laguna, having been established in 1995 and The Angelicum Ripples Therapy school in 1996.
