The AKC Agility Invitational is where they invite the top 5 dogs from each breed to compete in an agility competition. You have to have earned the Novice, Open and Excellent titles. Then you compete on the same Excellent courses but for points towards your Master Agility CHampionship (MACH). They use those MACH points to determine the top 5 dogs of each breed. The end of the qualification period was June 30th for the Invitational in December in Orlando. It was a long shot but I set a goal to get Letty qualified. In our 2nd to last weekend of trialing in the qualifying period she finished her Excellent Jumpers with Weaves title. So now she could earn MACH points. Then in our last trial in the qualifying period she earned her first ever MACH points! So now Vada and Letty are both going to be invited to the Invitational! It will get harder to qualifying for an invitation as more Dutch Shepherds start doing AKC agility. And there are a few great dogs coming up fast. So for now we are enjoying this exciting event while we can!
