The American left has spoken. American actions in Iraq were based on a lie, so Putin gets a pass for invading Ukraine - and theres nothing we can do to stop him anyway, because hes not afraid of our nukes. Wonder if they bother to think before they type. The American war against Saddam Hussein was based upon credible indications that he was a major threat to the region - it does not matter that after the fact research suggests his threat was not as lethal - and it took place 10+ years ago, so blaming GWBush for V Putins actions today seems, well, an odd stretch. Obamas hands are not tied because GWBush made the decision most likely to protect Americas interest in the Middle East rather than bet the ranch that the preponderance of the evidence on Saddams WMDs was mistaken. Obamas hands are tied because he has repeatedly taken the position that leaves the fate American interests in the hands of others. Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Egypt . . . being a isolationist spectator is a defensible policy, but pursuing that path, even if by accident, does not excuse a nation from drawing a [red] line of defense somewhere. So, Mr. Obama, when/where are Americas interests at stake and will you please tell us and the world your answer soon - most of us are tired of wondering whether you actually have an answer, and its getting more dangerous by the day living with your undefined, ad hoc, amorphous foreign policy agenda.
