The Angel and the Train I was in a northern town sitting on a bench at a train station on that Christmas Eve Night. It was cold. Snow was falling, but I was going nowhere. It was nice to see snow on Christmas since I never see snow on Christmas in D.C. So I came here to this town to see a White Christmas. Now here I am. Everything is quiet and peaceful. Then there is the sound of a train whistle. It is not possible. It is Christmas Eve. No train is coming anytime soon… But a train was coming. I look down the track, and I see the light. Maybe it was a train running late. Regardless, it was approaching. As it got closer, I looked at the stack and saw snow crystals blasting out. This is not a normal train. The train pulled up to the station and stopped. I was amazed as I saw an all silver locomotive right before me with gold passenger cars behind it. As I looked along the train, a bare foot reached out from the locomotive, and it touched upon the snow covered platform. I was amazed as the angel with her shining white robe and bright white wings outstretched and her golden blonde hair flowing down. She looked at me and smiled. She looked down at her feet with the snow crystals between her toes and looked at me again. “Do you want to ride the train?” She had a bright sparkle in her eyes. Mesmerized by her beauty and by the train, “Sure,” I said. “All aboard!” She winked at me. I got up and walked up to her. “You can ride with me,” she said gleefully. I climbed onto the locomotive and saw the shiny interior with a plush carpet floor. I had never seen a train like this before. “You can drive the train.” I was startled at first. “I know you want to drive the train.” She winked at me. I looked at the controls. I took a seat and grabbed the lever. She sat on the other side and put her bare feet on the glass looking forward. I squeezed the lever, and the train started to move. We pulled out of the station and continued down the line. “Where are we going?” I asked. “Somewhere with you,” she smiled. I just smiled and kept looking ahead. “Do you give the snowflakes names?” “What?” I was confused. “Do you name your snowflakes?” She winked, and her eyes sparkled. “I like to name the snowflakes.” “Why don’t you name some for me?” I smiled at her. She got up. She came over and sat next to me. Then you have Bob Di Lorenzo Who is truly the star of the show Then you have that Dale Daffin Who knows the Lord and keeps you laughin’ We cannot forget about Paula Cole Who is nice and kind in her soul And there is John and Lori Schwier More refreshing that the finest beer Kim Ciftci is the master of the wine A man of God who is truly fine I got to meet Gary and Cindy Bayer A lovely couple who truly care Marwan and Kelly Basatneh are truly free Living it up in the Big D And finally the lovely and gorgeous Sharon Bradley One of the most beautiful women you will ever see # # # When she was finished speaking, she winked at me and combed her fingers through her hair. “Now the snowflakes have names.” She was getting very cute. “I see,” as I was driving the train. “Next time,” she said in a perky voice, “you can name the stars.” “Next time?” I was confused. “Are you coming back?” She dragged her toes across the carpet. “There will be a next time because I like being with you.” “I see.” I smiled. “Do we have to stop the train?” She gave me a big wink. “Nope.” “Alright!” I said. We kept on rolling into that Christmas night… Now I eventually had to get off the train to write this story. So, I hope that you have a MERRY CHRISTMAS. As for the angel, I will see her again.
