The Antihoot Open Stage at Henry’s Cellar Bar Monday nights. £500 in prizes! Hosted by BBC Radio 4 comedy star Lach. Admission is free. 18+ only. Doors at 5pm. Sign-up to perform at 7:30pm. Show starts at 8pm. The Antihoot Open Stage is entering its sixth month and we are delighted by the huge turnouts and to be a Pick of the Week show in both The Herald and The Scotsman! Now its time to give something back to the wonderful artistic community that has grown up around the Monday night scene. £500! Starting on Monday November 11th and continuing weekly for six weeks total, two acts each week will win £25 each! Both acts will become semi-finalists and on Tuesday December 17th all twelve acts will compete in a Superhoot with one superstar winning the grand prize of £200, securing a Friday night set and being our first inductee into Henrys Cellar Bar Hall of Fame with their own artist page on henrycellarsbar. All performance is welcome: Musicians, Comics, Poets, Burlesque and more. All Monday night performers get two songs or eight minutes with a great sound system and an engaged and enthusiastic crowd. Each week there will be two ways for an artist to win. The first is to be voted in by the crowd (Hint to performers: Yes, part of the reason we are doing this is to encourage you to bring your friends and fans to cheer you on. We want everyone to enjoy the exciting scene thats happening on the Monday nights.) The second avenue to glory is to be handpicked by the Antihoots founder Lach, a songwriter in his own right and the man cited by such acts as Beck, Regina Spektor, Rick Shapiro, The Moldy Peaches and hundreds more as helping to launch and inspire their careers. Lach will be making a wild card pick each week in addition to the voted in act.
