The Bagley College of Engineering at Mississippi State will offer the states only degree in petroleum engineering, the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning board of trustees announced today. Students at the states flagship research university can begin enrolling in petroleum-focused classes in the fall of 2015. Interim dean Jason Keith said this new curriculum was proposed in response to a high demand for graduates with experience in drilling, production, petroleum economics and reservoir engineering.
