The Big Picture is.... We dont have good enough defenders to succeed in the PL. And if we have no confidence in our defence, we have nothing to build on. If the team were playing their heart and soul out and brimming with self belief - I still think wed concede too many goals. The three central defenders we have at the moment have NOT shown that they are good enough. Selling Mbiwa, I could understand but we were already short of a top clas CD before he went. And now we are two short - and its going to remain that way until January. For a long time, Ive felt sacking Pardew was not the answer - because he would only be replaced by another willing puppet. BUT now we need to change something because yesterday we looked like relegation fodder. Well attract the likes of Pulis and maybe Bruce who are both experts at getting underperforming teams to do well. Forget about any manager with real ambitions until the manager is given the financial backing that we need to get us in the top half of the league. Theres always JFK? (sic!)
