The Campaign Manager for the Henderson Massey Resident Group, Dr Ershad Ali, has announced three candidates for the forth coming local government election campaign. Current Henderson Massey Local Board member, Peter Chan, has been flying the flag for the Henderson Massey Residents Group in 2010 and is hopeful he will be joined by John Riddell, who stood for the Group in 2010 and Steve McDonald. All three are hard working and committed to to the community and will represent the Community well, says Ershad Ali, and internationally recognised economist and Massey resident. Peter Chan, a Te Atatu Peninsula resident and JP, has an MA with honours from Auckland University, and is a former Waiatkere City Councillor. Peter helped found the Waitakere Moon Festival in 2003 and is an honorary President of the Waitakere Chinese Association. A museum curator and lecturer on Chinese history, art and culture, Peter brings a much needed ethnic perspective to the local board table.
