The Center for Urban and Global Studies (CUGS) administers a summer program at Fudan University in Shanghai. The four-week summer program (July 4-August 1) offers a variety of Chinese studies courses and an intensive Chinese language class for students from the United States. Eight Trinity students have studied in this program on scholarships from the Shanghai government through Fudan University during the past three years. The scholarship to be awarded only to students who are US citizens on a first-come first-serve basis covers the application fee, tuition, housing, and some meals. The student will only pay for the round-trip airfare between Hartford and Shanghai and some pocketing expenses. International students can also apply but are not eligible for the full scholarship.
