The Chrischurch Social Street Residency is up again for an 8th - TopicsExpress

The Chrischurch Social Street Residency is up again for an 8th time. This is all being made possible thanks to the financial support of Gap Filler, the Christchurch City Council, site brokering by Life in Vacant Spaces, and the actions of The Social artists collective. The residency programme offers a week of free accommodation in a self-contained unit situated on the vacant site of 165 Gloucester Street (next to New Regent St). The idea being that the resident is brought in to participate in a true exchange with the streets of Christchurch and its people. The street then becomes the forum, or “studio” setting for their potential project (which will not be required, only suggested). The intended hospitality given to this resident will be the only currency traded for their work-output, which hopefully will become inspirational to the city at present. Benji Macdonald is currently situated at the Commons site on Kilmore/Victoria/Durham streets until 2 Aug 2014. Please contact craftchurch@gmail for more information. Or feel free to visit the resident at his worksite on 100 Peterborough Street.
