The Commissioner of Elections Mahinda Deshapriya has said counting of votes would not be carried out in Matara if police fail to arrest UPFA candidate Chandima Rasaputhra and his supporters who assaulted Asst. Elections Commissioner Anura Fernando who was in charge of election affairs in Matara District. A letter that the Commissioner of Elections has informed this in writing is published in the media. මාතර දිස්ත්‍රික්කය භාරව සිටි සහකාර මැතිවරණ කොමසාරිස් අනුර ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතාට පහරදුන් සන්ධාන අපේක්ෂක චන්දිමා රාසපුත්‍ර ඇතුළු ආධාරකරුවන් අත්අඩංගුවට නොගත්තොත් ඡන්දය ගනන්කිරීමේ කටයුතුවලින් ඉවත් වන බව මැතිවරණ කොමසාරිස මහින්ද දේශප්‍රිය මහතා පොලිසියට දන්වා ඇතැයි වාර්තා වේ. ඒ බව ලිඛිතව දන්වා ඇති අතර මැතිවරණ කොමසාරිස්වරයා විසින් එසේ දන්වන ලදැයි පැවසෙන ලිපියක්ද මාධ්‍යවල පළවෙමින් තිබේ.
